Assam LitArt Fest

The first edition of Assam LitArt Fest, which is the flagship annual initiative of The LitArt Foundation, was held at Royal Global University on the 17th and 18th of February 2024. It was inaugurated by Keshab Mahanta, who was then the minister of health and family welfare. The theme of this maiden edition was –Celebrating Plurality of Expressions and it was envisaged to facilitate intellectual dialogues and creative exchanges between the creative professionals of the state and nation. ONGC was the title sponsor of Assam LitArt Fest 2024.

The two day Fest witnessed an interesting melange of panel discussions, exclusive interview/chat sessions of well known writers and filmmakers along with some entertainment capsules. The August body of speakers compromised of actors and directors from Bollywood and Jollywood like the iconic Adil Hussain, Sham Kaushal who is a seasoned action director from Bollywood, Pramod Pathak a versatile actor known for his riveting performances at Gangs of Wasseypur, Raees and Raazi, Sidharth Jain, founder at The Story Ink- India’s leading book to screen adaptation company, Kenny Basumatary, a popular filmmaker and ace actor from the Assamese film industry and Navanita Sharma Bora who is a trailblazing producer from Jollywood, among many others. Nationally acclaimed authors from the state and outside the state like Somnath Batabyal, Sumant Batra, Manjiri Prabhu, Sangeeta Baruah Pisharothy, Dhruba Hazarika, Mitra Phukan, Rashmi Narzary and Anuradha Sarma Pujari (among many others) were part of gripping panel discussions along with some veteran musicians from Assam and a few bureaucrats.
