Assam LitArt Fest 2025

The second edition of Assam LitArt Fest, which is the flagship annual initiative of The LitArt Foundation, shall be held in November 2025 at Guwahati. We, Team LitArt, shall strive to take the Fest to unprecedented heights this year with the twin objectives of highlighting and enriching the literary and cultural landscape of our state and facilitating quality work collaborations in the creative domain. Scheduled for the second half of November, the second edition envisages focusing more closely on the artistic and literary traditions of Assam. There shall be a significant focus on the other north eastern states too. There shall be discussions on the role of media too particularly in the context of literature, films, music and fine arts.

Music Coffee Table Book

The LitArt Foundation shall be crafting a pictorial book (hard bound and with limited editions) that chronicles the popular history of the musical traditions of north east India (with a specific focus on Assam) and celebrates the contributions of some popular singers from the region. This coffee table book shall be distributed in select high end tourist destinations of the region, in the cultural and educational ministries and presented to key decision makers and connoisseurs (in the domain of music, art and culture) across India. We also aim to retail some copies in the pioneering bookstores of Delhi and Mumbai. This book, among other things, intends to be a precursor to specific workshops on the music industry of contemporary Assam.

Photography Workshop

As a one of its kind endeavour, The LitArt Foundation envisages to organise a photography workshop in the coming months with a special focus on the north eastern region. This workshop shall address the technicalities and vocabulary of photography from the standpoint of wildlife, nature, conservation, urban life, news, slice-of-life features and fashion and so on and so forth. The photography workshop shall culminate into a photography contest. The winners shall be given prizes and synced up with professional photographers for assignments that will give them exposure and opportunities to learn from the best in the field. Moreover, all the participants of this unique photography workshop, which will be addressed by veteran photojournalists and photographers, shall receive certificates of participation.

Webinar for Writers

The LitArt Foundation shall be hosting a monthly webinar from May 2025 wherein new writers from the region shall get a platform to talk about their work and introduce themselves to a large pool of potential readers. The medium of writing can be English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali or any of the languages pertaining to the seven north eastern states. This webinar shall be hosted by The LitArt Foundation in association with Readomania Publishing – a leading decade old publishing house based in New Delhi. The webinar shall feature writers across the literary spectrum like short story writers, novelists, script writers, dialogue writers, lyricists, music composers and poets. Every month one writer shall be featured and he/she can talk about various aspects.

Anthology of Short Stories

The LitArt Foundation shall be publishing an anthology of twelve select short stories written by unknown yet promising authors of the north eastern region. The anthology shall be published by one of the tier 1 publishing houses of the country. These stories shall be selected from a pool of short story submissions. The selected stories shall have to be original and score high in terms of the craft of writing. Stories set in the region and with local themes shall be given a preference. The LitArt Foundation shall facilitate book reviews, reader interaction opportunities and relevant photo opportunities for the best and most deserving writers. Besides this, the selected authors shall also merit a platform in the Foundation’s monthly webinar.

Crafting the First Child Author of Guwahati

The LitArt Foundation is committed to shaping the next generation of creative professionals in our state. We believe that a creative renaissance is the need of the hour for a much better, more evolved and far more empathic society. The only way to usher a true and lasting creative renaissance is to plant the seeds of creativity among the children and encourage them to explore and grow in their own unique signature style. As an extension of this belief, we shall be facilitating the first child author of Guwahati in the coming months. Consequently, a nine year old boy shall be bringing out his first ever independently written book of 5 short stories under the aegis of The LitArt Foundation.
