This book is an expression of the beauty & biodiversity of the rain forest Dehing Patkai which is notified as a national wildlife sanctuary. It is a mainly a pictorial representation of the forest and wildlife- essentially a depiction of the many innumerable stories revolving around the lives, culture, struggles and journeys pertaining to this forest. This coffee table book also offers a telling glimpse of the industries around the forest such as tea gardens, refinery and Coal India. The contemporary industrial aspects are beautifully and seamlessly portrayed alongside the culture of the local tribes and the historical significance of the place.

Dehing Patkai popularly called the Amazon of the East is one of the few remaining lowland tropical rainforests in India and home to a variety of birds, insects, mammals and reptiles. In other words, Dehing Patkai is the veritable expression of biodiversity.

This coffee table books is meticulously crafted with photos, digital illustrations, handmade sketches and words. The LitArt Foundation has involved purely local talent such as photographers, designers, illustrators, researchers and wildlife activists to execute this project. This was done with the intention of reiterating the fact that there are myriad unexplored creative opportunities within our state.
