Assam LitArt Festival is envisaged to be the premier festival (to be
hosted annually) of literature and art (encompassing the entire
spectrum of artistic expressions including filmmaking, fiction and
verse, visual art, digital art, music etc) in the state of Assam. Assam
LitArt Fest envisages providing a national level platform to the
established and budding artists and writers of our state. A cardinal
motto of Assam LitArt Festival is to facilitate writers and artists
from the region (irrespective of the language that they do their
work in) to collaborate with their counterparts nationally and
eventually even globally. And to manifest this objective, the
speakers (across disciplines) in every edition of this festival will be a judicious mix of national and state level luminaries. In other
words, we (meaning the festival organisers) shall be instrumental in
creating meaningful work opportunities our regional talent pool.
The concept of Assam LitArt Fest is rooted in a very simple
understanding - for literature and art forms to flourish/ evolve and
make indelible marks in the lives of people, it has to be noticed in the
first place. In this fast paced order of our times, too many good books,
movies and artworks go unnoticed, simply because they have not
been adequately marketed. This is not just a loss for the artist,
filmmaker and writer; this phenomenon is gradually and eventually
metamorphosing into a colossal loss for the human race. After all
every good and meaningful creation in terms of literature and art has
the unparalleled potential to influence and support millions of people.
Given this context, Assam LitArt Fest shall also have specific
sessions on the intricacies and brass-tacks of branding, marketing
and advertising that apply to literature and the spectrum of art
forms.
A) This Fest is not just restricted to literature.
B) The Fest does not stop at celebrating creative expression.
It intends to preserve and chronicle significant works of art
and literature.
Assam LitArt Fest is not just another cultural event in the
state. It envisages being a flagship event, which will be
known to the entire nation through its unique PR and branding
strategy.
• Reviving regional literature and arts is a principal focus
of the festival.
• Another cardinal objective is to create a digital archive of
breakthrough works of literature and art (particularly
those produced in recent decades) as we believe that literature and art festivals need to
play a trailblazing and pioneering role in the domain of preservation. After all,
although from time immemorial our region (and India in
general) is a treasure trove of great literature and artistic
traditions an appalling chunk of this is getting lost in the
tides of time, as preservation efforts have by and large
waned.
