A distinction holder in her post graduate mass
communications degree (from Symbiosis Institute of
Mass Communications) Proyashi has worked in the media
and communications industry of Delhi for 17 years. Her
journalism career spanned The Times of India, Hindustan
Times and an international foreign trade magazine where
she had served in the capacity of an assistant editor. At
TOI & HT she has contributed to special editorial projects
too and represented India at international assignments.
She has also worked in the corporate communications and
public relations industry and some of her appointments
include HCL Technologies (where she was employed as a
manager of communications) and IPAN Public Relations
and Public Affairs.
With a bachelor’s degree in English literature, Proyashi
loves to write and is adept at all genres of writing. The
Mystic Sinners published by Readomania in October 2019
is her debut novel. Proyashi has delivered a talk on the
importance of reviving our Shakta cults through
contemporary works of fiction at the prestigious Mystic
Kalinga Literature Festival that was held at Bhubaneswar
in 2020. She has also been an online panelist at the 2020
edition of the prestigious Pune International Literary
Festival and contributed short stories in a few anthologies.
Now Proyashi is based in her hometown Guwahati and is
a full time author. She writes columns for newspapers and
websites and works on content and editorial projects in a
freelance capacity. She is the primary editorial lead from
the north eastern states for a website called The Indian
Tribal.
