Jyotsna Neog hails from Assam and lives in Delhi. She
commands twelve years of professional experience in the
corporate and aviation sector at various levels and
positions. Client servicing, operations and soft skills are
her forte. She is a trained Sattriya dancer.
Eventually Jyotsna found her true calling in creative
writing and started her journey as a blog writer with
Momspresso.com. She has clocked a significant milestone
by scripting and making a short film in Hindi ‘SORRY’.
This debut film of hers that was shot in Assam (and
funded by a producer from outside the state) had a purely
Assamese cast and crew. Released in the year 2021,
SORRY had an impressive rating of 9.5 in IMDb.
Incidentally, this is the first Hindi short film made in
Assam with an Assamese cast and crew that has streamed
on national OTT (Disney + Hotstar in 2021-22). SORRY
has received a couple of international awards.
Her second Hindi short film ‘dHyaAn’ based on ADHD
in children (also made in Assam) was selected as a finalist
at the Pune Short Film Festival and the Korean
International Film Festival.
Best Film and Best Direction at the Tagore International
Film Festival; Best Short Film, Best Actor and Best
Concept at Durgapur International Film Festival are some
accolades of dHyaAn. It has also secured the second
runner up position in India’s only Oscar qualifying short
film festival -Bangalore International Short Film Festival
(BISFF) in 2024. Moreover, dHyaAn was also screened
at India Inclusion Summit Bangalore 2024.
