Dhruba Hazarika is a novelist, short story writer and a columnist. He is the author of Penguin India Publications ‘A Bowstring Winter’ (2006), ‘Sons of Brahma’ (2014), and a short story collection, ‘Luck’ (2009). All his books have received critical acclaim and appeal to diverse readers. He has contributed as a columnist to The Assam Tribune, The Sentinel and The Telegraph for over three decades now. His short stories have featured in several prominent literary journals like Indian Literature, New Frontiers, Melange, The Bombay Literary Magazine, Usawa and several others.
A recipient of the Katha Award for fiction in English and the DY 365 Award for Literature his works have been included in the academic syllabi of several universities. A former member of the Indian Administrative Service (holding several important and high profile positions in the government), Hazarika is a prominent voice in the literary landscape of north east India.
